Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Players have Started Using Bananas to Get Discounts

Fire Emblem, with its powerful launch of Fortune’s Weave, has seen such intense interest that some stores have even sold out their physical stock. However, Walmart users in the US have found an unexpected way to get the new Switch 2 game cheaper. At the heart of it all is a banana, as ordinary as a discount code.

Fire Emblem Players Get $10 Off with a Banana

According to the method discovered by players, using either the code FAST30 or SAVE3X on Walmart gives a $10 discount on Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. However, the system doesn’t work directly for everyone. Many people noticed that the discount was activated when they added a banana to their cart and selected in-store pickup.

Even more interestingly, some players managed to retain the price advantage after removing bananas from their carts after the discount was applied. It’s thought this might be because the codes were actually designed for grocery orders above a certain amount. The system somehow also treated Nintendo games as eligible items, creating a rather bizarre loophole.

The method wasn’t limited to Fortune’s Weave. Players reported using the same method on other Nintendo games like Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby and the Forgotten Lands. The campaign quickly spread on social media, with some stores even running out of bananas.

It’s suggested that Walmart may have started changing the system, and the method no longer works for all users. Nevertheless, considering how difficult it is to find discounts on Nintendo games during launch season, players earning $10 by adding bananas to their carts has already become one of the strangest deals of the year.
