HoYoverse Officially Announces New Game Nodus Fall

HoYoverse, known for games like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, officially unveiled its new project, Nodus Fall, during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Previously revealed through trademark applications and various leaks, the game’s first official visuals have now been released. The biggest surprise is that the studio has opted for a much more realistic and darker visual style this time.

Nodus Fall Reminiscent of Monster Hunter and Soulslike Games

The first trailer shows that up to three players can fight together in Nodus Fall, focusing on battles against gigantic creatures. The fact that players attack large enemies together with different weapons and abilities has led to comparisons with the Monster Hunter series. The heavier and more dangerous appearance of the combat also bears traces of Soulslike games.

The game’s world is shattered after a great catastrophe. While warriors called Weavers have managed to rebuild parts of the world, the threat posed by mythological creatures persists. Players will control one of these warriors and can harness not only their own equipment but also the powers of different gods.

Another noteworthy aspect of Nodus Fall is its technical side. The game is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and boasts a much more realistic art direction than HoYoverse’s previous projects. This change appears to be one of the most radical departures from the anime aesthetic the company has long embraced.

HoYoverse has not yet announced a release date or target platform list for Nodus Fall. Therefore, how the game will be positioned on PC, console, or mobile is currently unknown. However, the initial impression clearly shows that the studio is deviating significantly from its usual formula, preparing a darker and more cooperative action RPG.
