Gears of War: E-Day PC System Requirements Announced
Gears of War: E-Day will be released on October 6th for PC and Xbox. The Coalition has revealed the hardware requirements for different graphics settings ahead of release. Looking at the shared table, it’s clear that upscaling technologies will play a significant role in achieving all resolutions from 1080p to 4K.
Gears of War: E-Day PC System Requirements
For players aiming for 1080p and 60 FPS at medium settings, an NVIDIA graphics card at the level of an RTX 2060 or RTX 5050 will suffice. On the AMD side, an RX 6600 or RX 9060 is recommended. For processors, a Ryzen 5 2600X, Core i7-6850K, or Core i5-10400 is considered sufficient, while at least 12 GB of RAM and 115 GB of SSD storage are required.
At the recommended high settings, the hardware requirements increase significantly. Systems aiming for performance above 60 FPS at 1440p resolution require an RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 5060; on the AMD side, an RX 6700 XT or RX 9060 XT. For processors, a Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-11600K level and 16 GB of RAM are recommended.
Gears of War: E-Day system requirements are as follows:
- Medium / 1080p 60 FPS: RTX 2060 / RTX 5050 or RX 6600 / RX 9060
- Processor: Ryzen 5 2600X / Core i7-6850K / Core i5-10400
- RAM: 12 GB
- Storage: 115 GB SSD
- High / 1440p 60+ FPS: RTX 3060 Ti / RTX 5060 or RX 6700 XT / RX 9060 XT
- Processor: Ryzen 5 5600 / Core i5-11600K
- RAM: 16 GB
- Ultra / 4K 60+ FPS: RTX 5070 Ti or RX 7900 XT
- Processor: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Core i7-14700K or higher
- Upgrade: DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS
Things get a little more serious at ultra settings. For over 60 FPS at 4K resolution, an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 7900 XT is required, while on the processor side, a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or Core i7-14700K level is necessary. Despite this, the fact that upgrade technologies are still required indicates that the game may run quite slowly on PC.
The Coalition also announced that the game will offer DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3.0 support at launch. Ray tracing will utilize reflections, shadows, and global illumination, and ultrawide display support will also be available. Pre-loading will begin on September 29th; early access owners can start Gears of War: E-Day on October 1st, and other players on October 6th.
