GTA 6 Extended Look Became Netflix’s Most Watched Video
Rockstar Games’ 27-minute Extended Look presentation for GTA 6 was released on Netflix on August 27th and quickly topped the platform’s English-language movie list. The presentation not only took a closer look at Jason and Lucia’s story but also offered the most comprehensive glimpses to date of the world, characters, and gameplay systems awaiting players in Vice City. The level of interest was so high that Netflix reportedly experienced brief technical issues during the broadcast.
GTA 6 Extended Look Reaches Number One in 87 Countries
According to data shared by Netflix, GTA 6 Extended Look reached 31.1 million views in its initial release period. Furthermore, it reached number one in 87 out of the 93 countries it was viewed in. This result once again demonstrated the immense interest GTA 6 has generated, not only in the gaming world but also in the general entertainment industry.
Netflix specifically emphasized that the entire presentation consisted of in-game footage from PlayStation 5. The approximately 27-minute video showcased Jason and Lucia’s relationship, different areas of Vice City, and various events players will encounter. This provided a much longer and more detailed look at the game’s structure, unlike the short trailers previously released for GTA 6.
Netflix also points out the extremely high expectations for GTA 6. The main reason for this is that GTA 5 still holds one of the records for the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Before the Extended Look, many gameplay clips of GTA 6 had leaked online. It is reported that Take-Two and Rockstar are pursuing legal action against various platforms due to these leaks.
