Live TV with Over 100 Channels is Coming to PlayStation 5
Sony has announced the Live TV feature for PlayStation 5 users. Initially available only in the US, the service will be powered by Sony Pictures Television and will operate on an ad-supported streaming model without requiring any additional subscription. This means PS5 owners will be able to access live streams across various categories, from movies and anime to sports and news, directly through their console.
PlayStation 5 Live TV Feature Will Offer Over 100 Channels
To access Live TV, users need to go to the Media tab on the PS5 home screen, then select the Live TV on PS5 icon. Finally, after logging in with their PlayStation account, broadcasts can be watched directly. Sony has integrated the service into the console’s existing media section with a user-friendly interface.
The content selection is quite extensive. Movie channels include MovieSphere by Lionsgate, 50 Cent Action, FilmRise Free Movies, Sony One Horror Hits, and Cinevault. On the drama side, Community, The Shield, Hell’s Kitchen, The Walking Dead, Forensic Files, and Unsolved Mysteries stand out.
For anime fans, Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and Death Note are available, while Crunchyroll’s Black Clover and Box Sets channels will also be featured. Sports channels include FOX Sports, NASCAR, NBC Sports Now, and UFC. MMA, football, hockey, motorsports, golf, boxing, and soccer content will also be part of the programming.
News and weather channels include NBC News Now, Fox Weather, and LiveNOW from FOX. Additionally, Hot Ones, Spotify’s The Ringer content, Futcrunch, Idle Mode, gaming, esports, podcast, and documentary channels will be included within Live TV. The fact that the service is currently only available in the US raises the question of when it will be offered in other regions.
