Roblox will Turn Text Commands Into Playable Games
Roblox has announced a new AI tool called Build to open up game development to a wider user base. The system, which will run within the mobile app, will be able to convert written text commands into a basic game blueprint. Users can edit, test, share with friends, or publish the created project on the platform if they meet the necessary conditions.
Roblox Build Tool Can Create Games from Text
Build is being prepared as a new mobile-focused creation tab to be added to the Roblox application. Users will be able to describe the type, atmosphere, and basic features of the game they want to develop in natural language. For example, someone who wants a calm adventure game set in a dense forest can write this idea as text and create an editable starting project.
The new tool won’t be limited to just creating environmental designs. Developed by Roblox and supported by open-source models, the system will be able to generate content in various areas such as gameplay mechanics, characters, visual style, sound effects, and quest structure. It will also help users develop projects without leaving the application by creating more comprehensive scenes with working 3D objects.
Public alpha testing for Roblox Build will begin in New Zealand on July 28, 2026. The company plans to expand the system to more regions in the following months. Users must have completed age verification and be at least nine years old to use the tool. Games published through Build will only be accessible to users aged 16 and over who have completed age verification.
While basic features will be free, paid packages will be available for more advanced options. Roblox aims to enable even users without technical knowledge to quickly develop playable ideas with this new system. However, the originality of AI-generated projects, their performance level, and how content moderation is implemented will be more clearly seen after the testing process.
