Star Wars Zero Company Players Hunt for Deleted Content
Reviewing the PC version of Star Wars Zero Company revealed that some missions prepared during development but not included in the final game still exist in the files. Nexus Mods user Cafiso tracked down this content and reactivated four different side missions. While the missions aren’t completely finished, they are playable and can be added directly to the game thanks to the mod.
Four Deleted Missions Restored for Star Wars Zero Company
The mod, called Restored Operations, reintroduces four different combat missions found in the game files back into the mission rotation. Two of these take place on a planet called Courtsilius, which cannot be visited anywhere else in the main game, while the other two missions are located on Anaxes. The basic gameplay structure, lighting, and combat system of the missions are ready.
However, the reason for the removal of this content quickly became clear. The environmental designs of the mission areas were incomplete, and the maps only worked with the gray-box layouts from the early development stage. The mod developer specifically stated that this was not a technical error and could not be corrected later because the missing art assets were not found in the game files.
Nevertheless, the fact that the missions are functional suggests that this content had progressed quite far in the development process. There is no official explanation for why the missions were removed. Given that the game already contains a large number of time-limited missions and operations, it’s possible the development team chose to reduce the content density.
The Star Wars Zero Company modding community is also growing rapidly. Over 60 mods have been created for the game in a short time, and the reinstatement of the removed missions is an early indication of how active this community can be. While players are searching for the remaining content in the files, they are also expecting official new missions and long-term support from the developer.
