Asha Sharma Breaks Her Silence on The Elder Scrolls 6

Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls 6, announced in 2018, remains largely shrouded in mystery despite the years that have passed. Neither extensive gameplay demonstrations nor an official release date have been announced. However, a few words from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma in a recent Gamescom interview offered a new clue about the project’s current status.

A Brief Firsthand Comment on The Elder Scrolls 6

Speaking to the BBC, Sharma was asked whether The Elder Scrolls 6 would be an Xbox exclusive. Recalling Xbox’s exclusive game policy with titles like Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, Sharma said this approach would be considered within the company’s overall business strategy. However, she did not give a direct answer regarding the platform status of The Elder Scrolls 6.

Sharma’s clearest comment about the game was quite brief: “It’s a beautiful game.” This statement suggests he saw the project in action at least at some point. Given Bethesda’s almost complete silence on the game for years, even such a short comment has caught fans’ attention.

On the other hand, the release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 is still unannounced. Previously credible industry claims suggest the game could be released around 2028 or 2029. It’s also suggested that Bethesda might release at least one Fallout remaster project before that date. However, none of these timelines have been officially confirmed.

It’s also reported that Xbox has recently been allocating more resources to major Bethesda projects, including The Elder Scrolls 6. How much this will accelerate the development process is currently unclear. Nevertheless, Sharma’s direct experience with the game and his positive description are a small but significant sign for a project that has been silently progressing for years.
