The Occultist Release Date Announced
The official release date for The Occultist, a notable title in the psychological horror genre, has been announced. According to information shared by publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer DALOAR, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms on April 8th.
The Occultist Story Takes Place on a Mysterious Island
In the game, players control a character named Alan Rebels, who investigates paranormal events. The story begins with Alan’s journey to GodStone Island, an island shrouded in mystery for years. His goal is to uncover the truth behind his father’s sudden disappearance. However, this journey quickly transforms into a much darker investigation than he anticipated.
GodStone Island is known as a place that once housed a dark cult. It’s said that this cult, which lived there until 1950, conducted various rituals and experiments. Although the island has been abandoned for years, the clues Alan discovers suggest that the story is far from over.
Throughout the game, Alan’s most important tool will be a mysterious pendulum. This object will allow players to interact with the environment, solve puzzles, and control certain supernatural events. However, the game doesn’t feature direct combat mechanics. Instead, it focuses on a stealth and exploration-based progression system.
The Occultist also aims to offer an experience heavily focused on storytelling and atmosphere. Puzzles, paranormal events, and the player’s decisions will shape the flow of the story. The standard version of the game will be priced at $29.99. A Deluxe version including a digital art book and the game’s soundtrack will also be available.
