Uncharted 5 is Getting Ready to Break the Silence

Despite being one of the strongest brands in the action-adventure genre, Uncharted hasn’t released a new main game in a long time. Naughty Dog left the series at a very strong point with Uncharted 4, then expanded the universe with The Lost Legacy. However, the lack of a new game announcement since 2017 has increased fan anticipation year after year. According to recent claims, this silence may be slowly being broken.

Uncharted 5 Rumors Rekindled

Jordan Middler from VGC suggested in his latest podcast that a new Uncharted game is “obviously” on the way. According to Middler, while Naughty Dog left the series at its peak, this doesn’t mean the brand has been completely shelved. This statement, combined with previous claims of a new game from various leak sources, has rekindled Uncharted 5 rumors.

Similarly, some sources have suggested that Naughty Dog was working on two projects simultaneously at one point. Past social media posts from directors of the series have also occasionally fueled expectations of a “return.” However, there is currently no official announcement. Therefore, it should be noted that every detail discussed about a new Uncharted game remains at the level of speculation for now.

The direction a potential new game will take is another matter of curiosity. Naughty Dog is focused on launching its new Intergalactic franchise first. Therefore, even if a new Uncharted game is indeed being developed, its release is not expected in the near future. Rumors suggest the game could be delayed until late 2030 or later.

On the story side, two strong possibilities stand out. The new game could build a narrative centered on Nathan Drake’s daughter, Cassie Drake, and the theme of “passing the torch.” The other possibility is a prequel focusing on the younger Nathan Drake and Sully era. Although not officially announced, Uncharted, as one of the strongest adventure franchises in the gaming world, still holds great potential for a comeback.
