X-Men Cast Seeks Latino Male and Asian Female Actors
X-Men is shaping up to be one of the most important projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming years. While many names have been announced for the main cast, it seems the film’s cast is still expanding. New information suggests that Marvel Studios is looking for actors for some new characters who could be used in the first film and its sequels.
Three New Supporting Roles Under Development for X-Men
According to a new claim, Marvel Studios is working on three different actor profiles for X-Men. One of them is a female character who will have a small role in the first film and a larger role in the sequel. It is claimed that they are looking for a male actor of Native American or Latino descent and an Asian female actor for the other two roles. However, Marvel has not yet revealed the identities of these characters.
In the comics, there are many mutants that fit these descriptions. For the male character, names like Thunderbird, Warpath, or Sunspot come to mind. Sunspot, in particular, is seen as a natural candidate because he is one of the prominent mutants of Latin descent. However, it should be noted that this is only a prediction based on character descriptions.
For the Asian female character, Psylocke and Jubilee are among the first options that come to mind. However, these roles don’t necessarily have to be X-Men members. Considering Marvel’s plans to expand its mutant universe, some of these characters could be supporting characters or mutants on the opposing side who will be connected to other productions in the future.
It was previously announced that the main cast of the film will include names such as Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Samara Weaving, Maya Boyd, and Adam Driver. The project will be directed by Jake Schreier, the director of *Thunderbolts*. The fact that the X-Men cast is not yet completely finalized suggests that Marvel is trying to build a wider character pool for the Mutant Saga from the very first film.
