Avengers: Secret Wars Filming is Much Further Advanced Than Expected

Avengers: Secret Wars is shaping up to be one of the biggest collaborations in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. While official information about the film is still quite limited, a new claim from behind the scenes suggests that the production process is much further along than we thought. It appears Marvel may be working on the two major Avengers films somewhat intertwined, rather than preparing them completely separately.

How Far Ahead Are Avengers: Secret Wars Filming?

According to DoomsServant, a source who has previously shared some accurate information, Marvel quietly recorded some scenes for Secret Wars during reshoots for Avengers: Doomsday. Furthermore, it’s claimed that visual effects work has already begun. Since there has been no official confirmation from Marvel, this information should be treated with caution for now.

Given that the two films are expected to tell a story unfolding back-to-back, this approach isn’t actually surprising. With the same actors, sets, and production crews already in place, shooting specific scenes for Secret Wars early could be logical in terms of both time and budget. However, it’s unknown how much of the principal photography has been completed or which characters are featured in those scenes.

Avengers: Secret Wars will continue the events following Avengers: Doomsday. It has been confirmed that Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., will be central to the story. Rumors suggest the film may be inspired by the Battleworld narrative from the comics and focus on a fractured world resulting from the collision of different universes. However, Marvel hasn’t yet shared any story details.

The cast is rumored to include many names such as Thor, Doctor Strange, Steve Rogers, the new Captain America, Reed Richards, Yelena Belova, and Bucky Barnes.
