Resident Evil 9 is allegedly set four years after Resident Evil: Village. Jill Valentine, working for the BSAA, and Leon Kennedy, working for the DSO, set out to investigate the headquarters of the company that created Eveline. On this isolated island is a facility where Eveline was cloned en masse using Megamycete. It is said that Jill and Leon will be exposed to the virus and experience various struggles in this story. For support, Chris Redfield and Barry Burton will guide them via radio.

It is also rumored that Resident Evil 9 will feature the character of Rosemary Winters from the Village. Rosemary’s blood will allegedly be used to create a vaccine for the islanders. The return of Megamycete and the return of Blue Umbrella will add new depth to the Resident Evil universe.

Resident Evil 9 Locations and Enemies

Resident Evil 9 will reportedly feature frightening locations. Set on an isolated island, the game will feature tension-filled areas such as an abandoned hospital, caves, jungles and a laboratory. Enemies will include evolved zombies similar to Resident Evil 4’s Ganado. These zombies wear moon tattoos on their arms and sing songs against the sea due to their belief in the moon. It is also rumored that Leon will be constantly pursued by an enemy and Jill will be battling a character called Goatman. The main villain of the game is known as “Mr. Simon”.

Resident Evil 9 Development Process

It is also reported that Resident Evil 9’s development team is testing some scenes. It is said that Jill’s abandoned hospital sequence was tested in April and Leon’s forest scene was tested in September. It is stated that these tests were conducted to evaluate the playability of the game and to measure the tension level of the locations.
