The Cast of the Far Cry Series has Expanded: 8 New Names have been Revealed
Far Cry, one of Ubisoft’s biggest game franchises, is preparing to come to the screen with a live-action TV series adaptation. Developed by FX, the project has added five new names to its cast. With these additions, the main cast of the series has now reached eight people. The story of the first season and the identities of the characters are still being kept secret.
Far Cry Series Cast Includes 8 Actors
With the new announcement, Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou have joined the project. This brings the total number of confirmed actors to eight, including Rob Mac, Lizzy Caplan, and Steve Buscemi, who were previously announced. No details have yet been shared regarding which characters the newly added actors will portray.
The cast appears to bring together a number of highly experienced actors. Brendan Gleeson is known for the Harry Potter films and productions like The Banshees of Inisherin, while Jennifer Jason Leigh has appeared in projects such as The Hateful Eight and Fargo. Hamish Linklater is known for Midnight Mass, Sam Spruell for Alien: Earth, and Jamie Demetriou for Stath Lets Flats.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Far Cry series is that it will be an anthology series. Similar to the games, each season will focus on a different region, group of characters, and story. Producer Noah Hawley previously stated that, similar to Fargo, each season will explore the same core ideas from different perspectives. Rob Mac will be involved in the project as both a producer and an actor.
The Far Cry series, which began in 2004, has reached over 100 million players to date. The new series will air in the US on FX and Hulu, and internationally on Disney+. No official release date has yet been announced for the Far Cry series, but the rapid expansion of the cast indicates that production is progressing.
