Xbox’s Platinum Cup Opponent has been Revealed

Xbox is working on a long-awaited special reward system for players who complete all achievements in a game. New filters revealed in the latest Xbox Insider update show that Microsoft is testing a separate achievement type called “Mythic” for 100% completion. This system appears to work very similarly to the Platinum Trophy concept on PlayStation.

Xbox Mythic Achievement Could Rival Platinum Trophy

The new system was first spotted by Stallion83, known for his achievement hunting. The shared screenshot shows two separate filters: “Completed Mythic Achievement” and “Incomplete Mythic Achievement.” This suggests that Mythic might not just be a visual badge, but a system that separately categorizes completed games.

Until now, the most obvious indicator of completing a game on Xbox was usually reaching 1,000 Gamerscore. However, the 100% completion rate could be broken when later DLCs or updates added new achievements. PlayStation, on the other hand, keeps DLC trophies in separate lists, so the earned Platinum Trophy is permanently preserved in the player’s profile.

In August, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma also stated in response to a question on this topic that the team was working on something new during the year. The appearance of the name “Mythic” in the Insider version may be directly related to this statement. The system is also expected to offer a special badge, animation, or other visual reward.

However, the name “Mythic” has not yet been officially announced and may change in the final version. It is also currently unknown when Microsoft will open the system to all players. However, current tests show that Xbox is preparing to make its achievement system more visible and satisfying after many years.
