FiveM Players have Already Received the GTA 6 Map

FiveM is once again drawing attention with a GTA 6 prototype map allegedly derived from Rockstar’s old development files. The early Leonida map from 2014-2015, previously runnable in GTA 5, has now been ported to FiveM by a user named Glowabl3. This demonstrates that a very raw version of GTA 6 can technically be run in a multiplayer environment. However, players shouldn’t expect to immediately join the server and roam the streets of Vice City.

GTA 6’s Old Leonida Map Runs on FiveM

The map in question is claimed to come from a development archive of approximately 192 GB linked to Rockstar’s 2022 data breach. The map was previously ported to GTA 5. The new work differs in that it successfully runs the same early-period environmental data on FiveM.

Technically, this allows multiple players to explore the GTA 6 Leonida blueprint from years ago simultaneously. However, Glowabl3 says he doesn’t plan to open his server to the public. The main reason for this is FiveM and Rockstar’s rules regarding content usage.

Cfx.re does not allow the use of maps and assets from other games on FiveM servers. This rule also covers content from games developed by Rockstar, such as GTA 4 or Red Dead Redemption. Using files obtained through leaks can lead to even more serious penalties.

Cfx.re previously stated that servers using leaked content could face a two-week suspension, and repeated violations could result in permanent closure. Therefore, while the porting of the GTA 6 map to FiveM is technically interesting, there isn’t an open server accessible to players yet. So, FiveM is getting closer to GTA 6, but due to the rules, the doors aren’t open to everyone yet.
