GPD Win Max 3 with 128GB RAM Option Prepares for Global Launch
GPD is preparing to launch the global rollout of its new portable gaming PC, the Win Max 3. The company announced that the device will be available for support on Indiegogo starting September 2nd. With Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor options, a 165Hz OLED screen, and up to 128GB of memory, the Win Max 3 aims to be more than just a handheld console; it’s a powerful mobile computer alternative.
GPD Win Max 3 Comes in Three Different Hardware Options
The entry-level model will feature an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, priced at approximately $1,750. The 64GB RAM version using the same processor will cost around $2,246, while the most powerful model, with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 128GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD, will be priced at approximately $3,499.
These prices are stated to be converted from Hong Kong dollars, so slight discrepancies may occur during payment. Additionally, regional taxes and customs fees may apply to purchases made through Indiegogo. GPD will also offer backers a free cooling fan module and a 97 Wh battery module.
On the display side, the Win Max 3 uses an OLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach 650 nits of SDR brightness and a peak brightness of 1,050 nits in HBM mode. While the new model offers a more powerful processor than the Win Max 2, it also has one significant drawback: the OCuLink connectivity, commonly found in the previous series, has been removed.
GPD has not yet announced when shipments to global supporters will begin. The scope of Early Bird discounts is also unclear for now. Nevertheless, the combination of a 128GB RAM option, powerful Strix Halo processors, and a high refresh rate OLED screen makes the Win Max 3 an exceptional option for mobile gamers as well as users looking for a compact workstation.
