Hardcore Shooter Scavland Reaches 175,000 Wishlists Before Release
Scavland, which has been under development for six years, will be released in early access for PC only on September 4th. Inspired by titles like Tibia, STALKER, Metro, and Escape from Tarkov, the game combines top-down pixel graphics with a tough survival system. The development team announced that the game has reached 175,000 wishlists on Steam as the release approaches.
Scavland Combines Retro Visuals with Hardcore Structure
Scavland’s most striking feature is its presentation of the post-apocalyptic shooter formula with a classic visual style. The game attempts to differentiate itself from more modern examples of the genre with procedurally generated dungeons, pixel-based weapon customization systems, and challenging survival mechanics. The visual structure, particularly reminiscent of older games like Tibia and Ultima Online, reinforces the game’s nostalgic side.
Performance requirements are also kept quite low. A 2.77 GHz quad-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 2 GB of graphics card memory will be sufficient for Scavland. The game only requires approximately 1 GB of storage space. Therefore, it is expected to run smoothly on Steam Deck and other portable gaming PCs.
The development team wants to make Scavland accessible to as wide a hardware audience as possible. The readiness of Steam Deck support is a significant part of this approach. The game’s low system requirements could be a significant advantage, especially for players looking for a light yet deep survival experience that can be played for extended periods on portable devices.
Scavland will be released in early access on September 4th for $19. A 10% discount will be applied during the first week, and regional pricing will also be available. Reaching 175,000 wishlists before release is a very strong starting point for a small-scale production. Whether the early access period will translate this interest into actual player numbers will become clear after release.
