PUBG: DED.NET Officially Announced at Gamescom 2026

KRAFTON officially unveiled PUBG: DED.NET, a new multiplayer FPS game set in the PUBG universe, during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Set in 1990s Cascadia, the game aims to create a different structure with evolving roguelite systems in each game cycle, rather than simply replicating the classic PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS experience. The first trailer highlights vast terrain, vehicle use, and highly chaotic combat.

PUBG: DED.NET Comes with a Roguelite Structure

PUBG: DED.NET is based on multiplayer FPS combat, but players will be able to develop different approaches with each new run and progress over time. KRAFTON hasn’t yet revealed all the details of the roguelite system. However, the official announcement states that each run will give the player the opportunity to try new tactics and learn from previous experiences.

The game’s setting, Cascadia, is designed as a mountainous and forested region inspired by the Pacific Northwest of North America. The trailer showcases fictional locations such as Cryptid Cove and Cult Church. The 1990s theme doesn’t seem to be just background; the game’s visual identity, music, and overall atmosphere reflect the culture of that era.

The initial footage shows players navigating the map in vehicles, intense gunfights, and explosive weapons. While listed as an online PvP game on Steam, DED.NET appears to have a slightly more wild and relaxed character compared to the classic PUBG’s more serious survival tone.

PUBG: DED.NET is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A definitive release date hasn’t been announced yet, but KRAFTON has opened pre-registrations for a closed beta test. Despite bearing the PUBG name, DED.NET aims to create a different gameplay loop and looks set to be one of the most interesting attempts in the series outside of battle royale.
