Rayman Legends Retold Showcases Macarena at Gamescom 2026

Ubisoft released a new gameplay video for Rayman Legends Retold during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. The game, a reimagining of the 2013 Rayman Legends, will not only feature revamped graphics but also new story chapters, voice-over cutscenes, additional content, and entirely new music levels. The star of the Gamescom presentation was the level set to Los del Río’s famous “Macarena.”

Rayman Legends Retold Brings Four New Music Levels

The new footage shows Rayman progressing to the rhythm of “Macarena.” As in previous music levels in the series, players’ jumps, attacks, and movements directly match the tempo of the song. According to Ubisoft, the game will feature a total of four new music levels, with Macarena being just one of them.

Rayman Legends Retold retains the original game’s core platforming structure while employing a completely revamped visual presentation. Alongside new 3D graphics, the story will be retold, and players will be able to explore a previously undiscovered area. Familiar characters like Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus, and Murphy will come together in an expanded adventure.

The game will still be solo-only, but will also offer local co-op support for up to four players. The Kung Foot mode returns in an expanded form, while dragon riding and new musical sequences will increase gameplay variety. The standard edition includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, making the package more comprehensive, especially for those returning to the series.

Rayman Legends Retold will be released on October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Playable at Gamescom 2026, the game aims to significantly expand the classic Rayman Legends experience while preserving it with new content. The Macarena section also shows that Ubisoft has no intention of losing the energetic and somewhat crazy side of the old game in this reinterpretation.
