Ramayana: Part 1 Trailer Mesmerizes with Epic Visuals
Ramayana: Part 1 has released its official trailer following its premiere at San Diego Comic-Con. Transforming this epic, a significant part of India’s millennia-old cultural and spiritual heritage, into a two-film cinematic project, the initial footage offers a truly impressive scale. From battles to palaces, every scene in the trailer conveys the immense effort put into bringing the story’s grandeur to the big screen.
What Does the Ramayana: Part 1 Trailer Show From the Story?
The trailer features key moments from the epic, such as Prince Rama’s birth, Ravana’s rise to power, and Rama receiving the sacred Sharanga bow from Lord Parshuram. The Swayamvar ceremony where Sita chooses her husband, Rama’s 14-year exile, and Ravana’s abduction of Sita are also shown. It appears the first film will end on a dark note, culminating in Rama’s declaration of war.
Ranbir Kapoor will be central to the film as Lord Rama. The renowned actor says he is not only trying to portray the character but also to understand his purity and simplicity. Yash will play Ravana; Sai Pallavi will play Sita; and Ravie Dubey will play Lakshmana. Although Hanuman, played by Sunny Deol, is not seen in the trailer, the character is expected to have a much larger role in the second part.
The two-part production, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, was written by Namit Malhotra. The visual effects are handled by the eight-time Oscar-winning DNEG team, while the music is composed by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. The action scenes are choreographed by Terry Notary and Guy Norris. The massive production team aims for the film to make an impact not only locally but also globally.
Ramadana: Part 1 will be released in theaters on November 6, 2026, during Diwali. Ramayana: Part 2, which will complete the story, will be released on October 29, 2027. The first trailer looks quite strong, not only in terms of visual effects but also in terms of emotional narrative and acting performances. If Ramayana: Part 1 lives up to expectations, it could become one of the biggest fantasy films in Indian cinema to date.
