The New Metroidvania Game, Iron Bramble, has been Announced

PLAYISM has officially announced Iron Bramble, a game developed in collaboration with Rusted Moss developer Emlise and Mini Bunnies. Scheduled for release on Steam for PC in 2027, the game will offer a momentum-focused Metroidvania experience centered around physics-based grappling hook mechanics. Bearing traces of Rusted Moss’s movement system, this time the game takes place within a massive mechanical structure that blends science fiction with dark fantasy.

Iron Bramble Stands Out with its Grappling Hook Mechanics

Iron Bramble will take players inside a mysterious and massive mechanism called “Iron Bramble.” At the heart of the story is the fae explorer Lilac. Lilac will battle robots controlled by the spirits of the dead, uncovering the secrets of this strange structure and being drawn into a dark cyber-gothic tale. The game’s atmosphere will be enhanced by diverse areas ranging from gothic gardens and twisted towers to cursed main systems.

The game’s most important feature will be its physics-based grappling hook system. Developers describe this structure as “momentum Metroidvania.” Players will be able to attach the hook to numerous surfaces with 360-degree aiming, launch themselves into the air, or use it to approach enemies. There won’t be a single correct solution in the platforming sections; this will give players the freedom to creatively utilize the movement system.

Iron Bramble won’t be solely platform-focused. Weapon use will also be a large part of the gameplay. Players will be able to use weapons like rocket launchers not only to destroy enemies but also to gain speed through rocket jumps. The combination of grappling hooks, bunny hops, recoil, and acrobatic movements will create a fast-paced gameplay where combat and movement intertwine.

The gameplay style can be customized with different outfits, jewelry, weapons, and upgrades. There will also be over 10 boss battles, climbing missions, package deliveries, an endless arena mode, and multiple endings. Developers also state that accessibility options will support different play styles, including a story mode. Iron Bramble will be released on Steam in 2027 with support for English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
