The first PC system requirements for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, have been revealed. The information shared is currently preliminary and may change before release. However, the current situation suggests that the remastered version will require more up-to-date hardware, especially in terms of operating system and graphics card, compared to the original game.

The minimum system requirements announced for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered are as follows:
- Operating System: 64-bit Windows 11
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB or Intel Arc A580
- RAM: 12 GB
- Storage: 70 GB SSD
The recommended system requirements are as follows:
- Operating System: 64-bit Windows 11
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580
- RAM: 16 GB
- Storage: 70 GB SSD
Looking at the list, it is noteworthy that the game requires a graphics card at the GTX 1660 level at the minimum. The recommended specifications include an RTX 2060 SUPER. The requirement for a 70GB SSD in both profiles indicates that the remastered version prioritizes faster storage.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will offer a comprehensive technical overhaul compared to the original game. It’s stated that the improvements won’t be limited to visual enhancements; the overall experience will also be modernized. Furthermore, existing game owners will have free access to the remastered version.
But that’s not all for The Witcher 3. A new expansion pack, Songs of the Past, has also been announced, filling the story gap between The Witcher 3 and The Witcher 4. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be released on September 29, 2026.
