Turok: Origins Showed a New Story Trailer at Gamescom 2026
Saber Interactive released a new story trailer for Turok: Origins during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Bringing back the classic Turok series with a modern action shooter twist, the game will pit players against both dinosaurs and a much larger alien threat. Originally planned for release in Fall 2026, the new trailer confirms the game’s postponement to Spring 2027.
Turok: Origins Postponed to Spring 2027
The new trailer once again highlights that players will control a member of a warrior group called the Order of the Turok. The goal of the story is to cleanse the planet Xenia of invading enemies and uncover the truth behind the mysterious events threatening the future of humanity. Players can complete the adventure solo or co-op with friends.
Turok: Origins won’t just be a shooter relying on classic weapons. DNA fragments obtained from defeated enemies can be used to upgrade the character’s abilities and arsenal. This system allows players to create different attack styles and change their equipment according to the creatures they encounter. Switching between first-person and third-person camera angles also adds a different tempo to combat.
The new reveal also shows different regions of the Lost Lands. These areas, filled with giant dinosaurs, technological weapons, and alien creatures, more intensely combine the prehistoric atmosphere of the series with its science fiction side. Saber Interactive is also presenting a demo of the game to visitors at Gamescom 2026.
Turok: Origins is now scheduled to be released in Spring 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. A definitive date has not yet been announced. Despite the delay, the Gamescom trailer clearly shows the game’s goal of recreating both its co-op structure and the classic Turok spirit with modern action mechanics.
