Xbox Series X25 Eases the Pain of $900 with Free Games

Xbox has confirmed leaked information from last week, announcing that the Xbox Series X25, featuring a translucent green design, will retail for $899.99. Coming with a special case and compatible controller that references the original Xbox, the console’s price makes it the most expensive home console the brand has ever sold. To make this high price tag a little more appealing, Microsoft is also including a digital game code in the box.

Xbox Series X25 Comes with Halo: Campaign Evolved

Pre-orders were initially opened to a limited number of users who received email invitations. The console was then released for general sale. The package includes the specially designed Xbox Series X25, a matching controller, and a digital copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved. Given that the game normally costs $49.99, it’s clear Microsoft is trying to add a small amount of value here.

However, the math doesn’t change much. Subtracting the game’s $49.99 value from the $899.99 price tag still leaves you with a console costing $850. This is even higher than the most expensive standard Xbox options currently available.

Things get even more interesting on the comparison side. The PS5 Pro also currently has an $899.99 price tag but offers 2TB of storage. The Xbox Series X25 comes with 1TB of storage. In contrast, Microsoft includes at least one game in the box. As a collector’s item, the translucent green design is arguably its main selling point.

The console is scheduled to begin shipping on November 13, 2026. A controller with the same design will also be sold separately for $79.99 and will be released on October 20. The Xbox Series X25’s price seems likely to be heavily debated, but considering the limited production and nostalgia effect, it’s unlikely stocks will last long.
