A GTA 6 Fan Managed to Find Jason and Lucia’s Real House
A new detail has emerged showing just how closely Rockstar Games researched Miami for GTA 6. A player compared the Miami skyline, old map images, and real estate records to find the real-life equivalent of the apartment Jason and Lucia saw in the trailer. The research concluded that the building was the Belmar Condominium in the Edgewater area. Interestingly, the structure no longer exists today.
GTA 6’s Jason and Lucia Apartment Was Inspired by a Real Building
The research began by examining the Miami skyline as seen from the apartment window. Initially, the lack of any visible building on current maps made the task difficult. However, using historical Google Maps images, it was discovered that the Belmar Condominium existed at the same location during the development process, a reference point Rockstar may have used.
Archived real estate listings further corroborated the similarities. Allegedly, Rockstar didn’t just capitalize on the building’s exterior; the apartment’s interior layout also bears significant resemblance to the actual building’s plan. Built in 1973, Belmar was a small apartment building with 13 apartments and was located directly across from Margaret Pace Park. The view of Biscayne Bay also matches the balcony views in GTA 6.
The building’s real-life story ended during the development of GTA 6. Belmar Condominium was sold to developers in 2022 in a $12 million bulk purchase deal and subsequently demolished. A 55-story tower called Vela, valued at approximately $300 million, was planned in its place, but the application was withdrawn in 2023 due to zoning issues.
As of 2026, the site remains vacant, and the project appears to be on hold. Thus, a building that vanished in the real Miami continues to live on in GTA 6’s Vice City thanks to Rockstar’s detailed fieldwork. Considering that fans have previously traced other real-world structures in the city, numerous similar real-world location references may be waiting to be discovered in the game’s open world.
