With the first trailer released in December 2023, it was officially confirmed that the game would be released in 2025. However, careful users on Reddit noticed a release date on the GTA 6 page on IMDb: October 27, 2025. After briefly appearing on the page, the date was removed.

“I doubt they’ve set a date internally yet. My guess would be September to maximize holiday sales,” one Reddit user said, suggesting that the date is not set in stone. “GTA is one of those games that can be released at any time of the year and people will buy it no matter what. Unlike other companies, Rockstar is not limited by holidays,” another user commented.

Considering the release dates of past GTA games, it was thought that October might be the right time frame. Another user reminded that Vice City was released on October 29th, which could be a possible reference for GTA 6.

It was emphasized that IMDb pages can be edited in a similar way to Wikipedia, so one should be cautious about the exact date. However, the general consensus among fans was that the leaked date was a logical time frame for the game.
