Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Showed Off Its New Trailer at Gamescom 2026
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, developed by Cold Iron Studios, reappeared during Gamescom 2026 with a new Xenomorph Showcase video. The sequel, which expands on the team-based third-person shooter structure of the first game, now offers co-op support for up to four players. The new trailer specifically showcases how different Xenomorph types attack and how quickly conflicts can descend into chaos.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Moves to Four-Player Teams
One of the most significant changes in the sequel is the increased team size. Players can now go on missions with four-person Colonial Marines teams. Team composition, class complementarity, and coordination during combat will become much more important. The development team aims to make this structure more tactical and intense than the first game.
The class system is also being expanded. In addition to the five basic classes, the game will feature a fully customizable Specialist class in later stages. Weapon fire modes, Augment systems, and special Weapon Trait options will allow players to create much more detailed equipment to suit their play style.
On the Xenomorph side, AI and aggression have been increased. The goal is for enemies to adapt more quickly to player tactics, ambush in corridors, and attack in large hordes. In addition, the updated Horde mode will offer increasingly difficult waves and more valuable rewards on custom maps.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is releasing on August 25, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game will also offer cross-platform co-op and voice chat support. The Gamescom presentation shows that the biggest change in the second game of the series will not only be more content, but also a larger and more coordinated team structure.
