No Law Showed Off Its New Gameplay at Gamescom 2026
Developed by Neon Giant and published by Krafton, No Law made its debut at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 with new gameplay footage. Players will control a former soldier named Grey Harker and try to survive in a dystopian city where rules have almost completely disappeared and the scars of war still linger. At first glance, the game has a Deus Ex vibe, focusing on offering the player different tools and paths rather than a single correct solution.
No Law Allows You to Solve Problems Your Way
The most interesting aspect of No Law is that it’s not a classic corridor shooter. The game defines itself as an FPS focused on player freedom, and how you solve the problems you encounter is largely up to you. You can either engage in direct combat or proceed more cautiously by utilizing the vehicles and different systems in the environment.
The new trailer clearly demonstrates this approach. Alongside armed conflicts, there are different pathways, environmental interactions, and more free-flowing gameplay options. In the city, everyone suspects each other, and the post-war tension is still palpable. In short, it’s not just about shooting enemies; reading the environment and choosing the right path will be a crucial part of the game.
Neon Giant’s previous work on The Ascent is also evident in No Law’s visuals. Neon lights, dense city textures, and cyberpunk aesthetics are strong, but this time the camera is in first-person. Furthermore, the game will be entirely single-player; the development team explicitly states that they are not planning any co-op or multiplayer modes.
No Law is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While some sources mentioned a 2027 release during Gamescom, the official website still shows the date as TBD, meaning the exact release date has not yet been announced. For now, the clearest point is that Neon Giant is preparing a much more personal and free-playing sci-fi FPS following The Ascent.
