Sony has announced that PlayStation VR2 will be available for PC gamers via Steam. This will allow players to use the PlayStation VR2 headset and Sense controllers on PC.
PlayStation VR2 App Coming to Steam on August 7th
Launching on August 7th on Steam, the PlayStation VR2 App will allow PC gamers to play VR games using the headset. Sony said the app will include functionality to set up PS VR2 devices, perform firmware updates and keep devices up to date. This is an important step forward for PC gamers, offering them the opportunity to expand their VR experience.
PlayStation VR2 requires certain system requirements to be available on PC. Sony says it requires an Intel Core i5 7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 processor with at least 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500XT GPU. Zen 2 CPUs and NVIDIA’s Turing GPUs are also among the minimum requirements. These hardware requirements are set to ensure that users have a smooth VR experience.
The PlayStation VR2 is considered by many to be one of the best VR headsets. However, there is also criticism that Sony did not provide enough support after releasing this device for the PS5. Some users feel that the support for the first PSVR was better. However, the availability of PS VR2 on PC could change this and help the device to be adopted by a wider audience.
