Warhammer 40K Announces New Legion of the Damned Kill Team

Warhammer 40K has expanded over the years with countless Space Marine chapters and different factions, but some of them have long been absent from official models. Games Workshop is now bringing back one of these names. Legion of the Damned will reappear in the 11th edition with the Kill Team: Armageddon set. Moreover, the return is not just about reprinting old models; many elements, from unit design to gameplay, have been revamped.

Warhammer 40K Legion of the Damned Returns with Kill Team

In Kill Team: Armageddon, Legion of the Damned will face off against an Orc war group. The most striking aspect of the new models is their visual design. The flame details that were previously created with paint have now been replaced by physically rising flames from the armor. Thus, the ghostly appearance that Legion has known for years has been recreated in a much more impressive way.

The team’s gameplay structure has also been altered to suit its character. Legion of the Damned will move more controllably in the early stages of combat, gradually becoming stronger and more aggressive as the match progresses. This aims to give players a distinct identity not only in the models’ appearance but also in their gameplay.

The box includes Legionnaire Sergeant, Ancient, Incinerator, Gunner, and six Legionnaires, while the Ork side will feature Killa Boss, Klaw Boss, Skorcha Boss, Hacka Boss, Klobber Boss, Dakaka Boss, Boss Nob, and three Grots. Each model has its own unique armor and pose details.

The set also includes two bunkers, various ruin pieces, a wrecked Redemptor Dreadnought and Rogal Dorn Battle Tank, a desert-themed play area, a rulebook, unit cards, and effect tokens. The best news for Warhammer 40K fans is that Legion of the Damned models will be available for purchase separately at a later date.
