WOW: The War Within Release Date
Blizzard Entertainment has announced the release date for The War Within, the highly anticipated expansion for World of Warcraft. Blizzard, owned by Microsoft, announced at the Xbox Games Showcase event that the expansion pack will be available on PC on August 26th.
Blizzard Announces WOW: The War Within Release Date
The War Within will be the first part of a three-part series known as the Worldsoul Saga. The other expansions in this series, along with Midnight and The Last Titan, were first revealed at BlizzCon 2023. With BlizzCon 2024 not being planned, it makes sense for Blizzard to announce the release date at the Xbox Showcase event. The War Within is currently in beta testing and players have the opportunity to review the available content.
Sargeras’ Wound and New Content
In The War Within, players will tackle the great wound left behind by the imprisoned Titan Sargeras when a giant sword pierced the deserts of Silithus. Azeroth has been struggling with this great wound for years. In the Battle for Azeroth expansion, the two factions began fighting for a new resource called Azerite, which began to flow from the land after this sword strike. While the Shadowlands and Dragonflight expansions focused on other stories, The War Within returns to this theme in a big way.
What’s New and Features
The War Within will feature Warbands, a cross-character progression system, and Delves, fast-paced dungeon runs that offer solo play sessions. Players will benefit from not having to split their efforts between sub-characters. They will also have the opportunity to explore previously unexplored subterranean regions of Azeroth, such as the ancient Nerubian kingdom and the home of the Earthen, a new race of characters joining both the Horde and Alliance.
