1001 Threads of Mizan Announced at Gamescom 2026
MBC Game Studio officially announced its first game, 1001 Threads of Mizan, during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The team, comprised of individuals who have worked at studios such as BioWare, Ubisoft Montreal, Bungie, and Hi-Rez, is working on a high-budget action-adventure game centered on Arabic folklore. The first trailer revealed the game’s structure, which is playable solo but whose main strength lies in its three-player co-op adventure.
1001 Threads of Mizan Offers a Three-Player Fantasy Adventure
The game features three protagonists: Yusra, Malik, and Sufyan. Assembled by the renowned storyteller Shahrazad, the team will fight against an ancient Jinn King who seeks to destroy humanity. At the heart of the story is the rediscovery of the lost power of Mizan and how this power will change the fate of the world.
One of the game’s most striking features is the flying carpets. Players can explore the vast world not only on foot but also from the sky using flying carpets, and even engage in aerial combat. The game supports drop-in/drop-out co-op for one to three players, meaning friends can join or leave the ongoing adventure later.
The trailer also features boss battles with gigantic genies. These creatures are designed on a much larger scale than classic enemies and emphasize teamwork. The playable pre-alpha demo at Gamescom also showcases co-op gameplay, flying combat, and the boss named Nazjush.
1001 Threads of Mizan is scheduled for release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. A definitive release date has not yet been announced, but the initial Gamescom presentation clearly shows MBC Game Studio’s intention to transform the Arabian Nights and Arabian folklore into a large-scale co-op action game.
