EA Sports FC 27 The Grounds Beta Gameplay Leaked Online
Officially unveiled last week for EA Sports FC 27, The Grounds will transport players from just match screens to a social open-world space. Over 10 minutes of gameplay footage from the beta version of the mode, which is built around spending time with friends, playing matches on small pitches, and participating in various events, has leaked online. The videos offer the clearest glimpses yet of how EA is structuring the new space.
What does the EA Sports FC 27 The Grounds Gameplay Show?
The first leaked video is about two minutes long and shows the player exploring different areas within The Grounds. This is followed by a cutscene with Chloe Kelly, introducing a new event called Kickabouts. The system combines soccer with elements of other sports like dodgeball, basketball, and bocce.
The same images also show the mission system within The Grounds. There are various objectives under the headings Mentors, Live Events, Club Live Events, Club Milestones, and Closed Beta Objectives. Players who complete these objectives can earn special in-game currency that can be used within The Grounds.
The second video, lasting approximately nine minutes, takes a closer look at the customization options. The shop within the Clubhouse offers a wide range of cosmetic items, from tops and bottoms to shoes, tattoos, hair and beard styles. Face accessories, arm gear, Archetype Card backgrounds, and emotes are also available for purchase.
Later in the video, the player can summon a ball at any time in the open world and shoot at surrounding targets. The map largely matches the previously shared official design. Finally, there are images of two players logging into the same session on The Grounds for a 1v1 match. This social area for EA Sports FC 27 is structurally reminiscent of open-world hubs in 2K games, but it’s important to remember that the leaked images are from a beta version and may be subject to changes before release.
