Take-Two is Pleased with It’s GTA 6 Pre-Orders
Although the GTA 6 pre-order process is still in its early stages, it has already brought smiles to the faces of Take-Two. Rockstar Games’ parent company, in its first-quarter results for fiscal year 2027, announced that global interest in Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to grow and that pre-orders have started off very strongly. However, the company is not yet disclosing how many people have purchased the game or how much revenue has been generated.
What are the GTA 6 Pre-Order Numbers Like?
In its financial statement, Take-Two stated that GTA 6 had an “extraordinary start” to its pre-order period. Since the exact number of sales or revenue generated was not shared, we don’t know how many millions of pre-orders this statement corresponds to. Nevertheless, the company’s emphasis on this success in its statement to investors shows that it is quite pleased with the initial results.
GTA 6 is expected to play a major role in Take-Two’s performance in fiscal year 2027. The company forecasts net pre-orders to reach $8 billion for the year, representing approximately 20% growth compared to the previous year. Rockstar’s share of total revenue is expected to be around 37%.
Pre-orders are likely to increase further as the release date approaches. In particular, the recently announced GTA 6 Extended Look, which will be one of the most comprehensive presentations of the game to date, will be shown on August 27th. The fact that the first six hours of the Extended Look will be exclusive to Netflix also demonstrates the unconventional approach to GTA 6 marketing.
GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19th, and it’s clear that Take-Two expects significant revenue from the game not only in the initial sales period but also in the long term. The future release of the PC version and the use of new online revenue models could further increase this expectation. Since no official details have been shared regarding multiplayer, whether Shark Card-like systems will return is currently just speculation. However, judging by GTA 6 pre-order performance, Take-Two has a very strong start.
