The DLSS 5 Era Begins in Bethesda Games
Bethesda seems poised to take another ambitious step in the field of next-generation graphics technology. NVIDIA’s recently introduced DLSS 5 has already generated considerable excitement in the gaming world. Now, recent statements suggest this technology could play a significant role in Bethesda’s future projects.
Bethesda May Use DLSS 5 in Future Games
DLSS 5, which NVIDIA describes as “the new era of graphics,” aims to redefine visual quality beyond classic performance enhancements. This AI-powered system aims to reconstruct scenes from scratch, providing much more realistic lighting and detail. The results from initial demonstrations are truly impressive, even considered “too realistic” by some players.
The statement from Bethesda is particularly noteworthy at this point. Todd Howard, head of the studio, explicitly stated that DLSS 5 will be used not only in current projects but also in future Bethesda games. The fact that this technology is planned for Starfield, in particular, highlights the seriousness of the project.
This inevitably brings to mind even bigger projects. Although not yet officially confirmed, the use of DLSS 5 in The Elder Scrolls VI or a new Fallout game doesn’t seem far-fetched anymore. Considering Bethesda’s open-world designs, a significant visual leap with this kind of technology is quite likely.
Of course, there’s also a controversial aspect. DLSS 5’s heavy reliance on artificial intelligence has led some players to question whether this is truly rendering or entirely AI. Nevertheless, it’s not surprising that a studio like Bethesda, which likes to push technical boundaries, wants to experiment with this technology. For now, the only thing certain is that a new era of visuals is about to begin in Bethesda games.
