The Social Clubs Era is Ending on Xbox

Microsoft, which has made various updates to its interface and community features in recent years, is now preparing to simplify the social experience. While the usage of some tools that provide community interaction, especially on consoles, has decreased, the company wants to focus on more popular systems. In this context, a significant turning point is being reached on the Xbox platform.

Xbox Social Clubs Feature to be Removed in April 2026

According to the announcement, the Social Clubs feature will be completely removed from Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S consoles as of April 2026. The “Clubs on Xbox” section in the Friends & Community Updates application will also be deleted from the system on this date. Furthermore, it appears that the option for users to create new clubs has already been disabled.

Social Clubs allowed players to form communities around specific games or interests. These clubs enabled screenshot sharing, discussions, and event organization. However, it’s noted that this feature has become less prominent over time, with decreased active use.

Xbox management is suggesting that players turn to different tools for communication and organization. The Xbox messaging system, Discord integration, party chat, and the Looking for Group feature are highlighted as priority options for social connection. The company states it will focus its resources on the most used social experiences.

However, official clubs, directly linked to publishers, will remain in the system. Players can access these official communities from the Game Card menu of the respective game. As the Social Clubs era ends on Xbox, the platform’s social structure is evolving towards a more centralized and streamlined model.
