Kathryn Newton, who played Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, said she believes Ant-Man 4 could one day be made if fans truly want a new film. However, the young actress gave no indication that this possibility will occur in the near future. Newton’s words are merely a personal opinion, and there is no official decision from Marvel Studios regarding a sequel.
Newton, recalling that some popular series have been revived after nearly 20 years, pointed out that the wait could be quite long. Therefore, while the statement might seem promising at first glance, the actor isn’t giving fans false hope that a new film will arrive soon. Marvel’s crowded project schedule also pushes the possibility of Ant-Man 4 further into the distance for now.
The biggest question mark surrounding the future of the series was the box office performance of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, released in 2023. The film had a strong opening weekend, grossing $106 million in the US and Canada and approximately $225 million worldwide. However, it experienced a 69.6% drop in its second weekend, marking the sharpest decline for a Marvel Cinematic Universe film at that time.
Made with a budget of approximately $200 million, Quantumania earned $476 million worldwide, falling short of expectations. This result may have made it difficult to quickly approve a fourth film in the series. However, characters like Scott Lang, Hope van Dyne, and Cassie could return in different MCU projects. Ant-Man 4 is not yet announced, but according to Kathryn Newton, it’s not entirely impossible if fan interest continues.
