According to Take-Two’s CEO, GTA 6 will be Worth Every Penny

A new debate has erupted among players following the announcement of GTA 6’s pricing structure. The standard edition is priced at $80, while the Ultimate Edition costs $100, leading to criticism that the top-tier package is presented as overly attractive to players. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, however, remains relaxed about the pricing, believing that the experience Rockstar Games will deliver more than justifies the price.

GTA 6 Price Remains Cheap According to Take-Two

The standard edition of GTA 6 will be sold for $80, and the Ultimate Edition for $100. While the Ultimate Edition includes various in-game bonuses, some players feel that it’s being positioned as the preferred package. Zelnick, however, argues that even the standard edition is quite advantageous compared to the experience it offers.

According to Take-Two’s CEO, the company’s core approach is to offer value far exceeding the price charged to players. Zelnick, recalling Rockstar Games’ reputation for exceeding expectations with its games, stated that GTA 6 represents an “incredible opportunity” in this regard. He even acknowledges that given the massive interest in the game, the company could have set a much different price.

This approach aligns with Zelnick’s previous statements about game pricing. The CEO believes that the value of games should be judged not only by their purchase price but also by the amount of entertainment and content they offer. The Grand Theft Auto series’ vast open worlds, side activities, and long-lasting online presence are major pillars of Take-Two’s argument.

Take-Two expects to achieve approximately $8 billion in net bookings this fiscal year thanks to GTA 6. There are also high expectations that the game will be one of the fastest-selling titles to date. Of course, whether $80 or $100 is truly a good price for players will vary from person to person. However, Take-Two has little doubt about this: the price requested for GTA 6 falls short of the experience the company is willing to offer.
