Fans are Building the Entire GTA 6 Map on an Interactive Platform
Even before GTA 6’s release, a massive community effort has formed around the game’s map. Fans are meticulously examining trailers, screenshots, promotional images, and various materials released by Rockstar Games over the years to create the most comprehensive possible sketch of the Leonida map. The resulting work is not just a rough estimate; it has transformed into an interactive platform regularly updated with roads, areas, locations, and landmarks.
GTA 6 Map Built Step-by-Step by Fans
The platform attempting to recreate the GTA 6 map stands out as a fan-made project accessible via map.stateofleonida.net. This work combines visual cues extracted from the game’s official content to provide a broad sketch of Leonida, from its city center to its rural areas. The latest version of the map has been updated to include details from Rockstar’s recently released visuals.
The platform’s history isn’t new either. It’s stated that the project has existed since at least March 2025 and has evolved with contributions from fans of varying technical skills. The latest version, updated on June 24th, is the thirteenth version. This version incorporates details extracted from dozens of new screenshots shared for the Ultimate Edition promotion and pre-order content.
The map doesn’t just include roads and terrain. Fans are also marking shops, safe houses, activity areas, important locations, and potential points of interest within the city. Different biomes, such as Mount Kalaga National Park, swamp areas, Port Gellhorn, and the center of Vice City, are also individually included in the work.
Of course, this map isn’t an official Rockstar Games project. Nevertheless, it’s quite impressive to see how meticulously the GTA 6 community has worked. As new trailers and visuals are released leading up to the game’s launch, this fan-built version of Leonida will likely become even clearer.
