Resident Evil Requiem’s Pre-Load Date and File Size have been Revealed
While anticipation continues for Capcom’s new survival horror game, Resident Evil Requiem, two details that players were most curious about have been clarified. Both the pre-loading schedule and the storage space requirements have been revealed. The file size, in particular, marking a first in the series, has drawn attention before launch.
Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Loading and Massive File Size
According to the shared information, the PS5 version of Resident Evil Requiem will require approximately 72.88 GB of storage space. If this figure remains unchanged at launch, the game will have the largest installation size in the main series. For comparison, Resident Evil 4 Remake takes up approximately 67 GB on PS5, while Resident Evil 2 Remake is around 48 GB.
The pre-loading process will begin on February 25th. Players who purchased the standard edition will be able to download and activate the game from that date onwards. Unlock time is stated as midnight on February 27th. The global timeline for other regions has not yet been officially shared.
The large file size naturally suggests the possibility of larger areas, high-resolution textures, and detailed cutscenes. However, Capcom has not yet provided a technical explanation for this. Nevertheless, considering the visual leap in the series in recent years, expectations are quite high.
On the other hand, Resident Evil Requiem is being talked about not only for its size but also for its popularity. It is reportedly among the top games on Steam’s wishlists. In short, as February 27th approaches, both storage space and expectations should be prepared in advance.
