A Release Date has been Announced for Phantom Blade Zero State of Play

The date for the special State of Play presentation for Phantom Blade Zero, where new gameplay details will be shared, has been announced. S-Game stated that the event will take place on August 17th at 7:00 PM Pacific Time. The broadcast will begin at 5:00 AM on August 18th in Turkey. The presentation will particularly highlight the combat system, character development options, and previously unseen parts of the story.

What Will Phantom Blade Zero State of Play Show?

S-Game CEO Soulframe Liang said the special presentation will take a closer look at the game’s core combat mechanics. It will also demonstrate the freedom players can have with different character builds. In addition, new characters who are important in the story and haven’t been seen before will be introduced for the first time.

It appears the presentation will be more than just a short teaser. The studio will delve deeper into the details of the combat system and the impact of different build options on gameplay. Given that Phantom Blade Zero has so far been notable for its fast-paced melee combat system, the new footage could provide a clearer understanding of the game’s gameplay structure.

S-Game also revealed the role of martial arts star Donnie Yen in the project. Yen has been working on the game as an action and film consultant since 2023. He also handles facial and motion capture work for Mó Yuan, the father of the main character, Soul.

Pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero are now open, and the studio recently released a new 11-minute teaser. The special State of Play presentation will be a continuation of this teaser.
