Fans Now See This K-Pop Star as Ada Wong
When you think of Ada Wong, short bob haircuts, side-swept bangs, and stylish outfits dominated by dark red tones come to mind. Recently, Asa, one of the main rappers of the group BABYMONSTER, also shared photos with almost the same visual style, which didn’t escape the attention of Resident Evil fans. The comparisons started on social media so quickly that some users have already started calling her “Asa Wong.”
Where Did the Ada Wong Comparison Come From?
Asa shared new photos on BABYMONSTER’s official Weverse community with short hair and a dark red outfit. The look quickly became a topic of conversation among both K-pop and Resident Evil fans, especially since it reminded them of Ada Wong’s designs in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4.
Most of the comments from fans focused on the similarity between the two names. Some directly suggested Asa should cosplay as Ada Wong, while others argued she should portray the character in a potential live-action Resident Evil game. The nickname “Asa Wong” began to spread precisely after these posts.
Actually, this comparison isn’t new. In March, some photos surfaced showing Asa’s short bob hairstyle and black choker necklace, resembling Ada’s appearance in Resident Evil 2 Remake. At that time, numerous comparison images showing the two characters side-by-side were also created.
Asa has not yet made a public comment about the Ada Wong comparisons. On the other hand, the character is not expected to appear in a new Resident Evil film anytime soon. Director Zach Cregger previously stated that the film would not be a direct adaptation of the games and would tell a different story. Therefore, it seems that Asa’s performance as a true Ada Wong will remain in the fans’ imaginations for now.
